Our home vineyard is located in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains in the Tumbarumba wine region. We produce a range of cool climate wines from this region which is the coldest viticultural area on mainland Australia. Allegiance Wines also has a strong pedigree of producing the highest quality wines from Australia’s premium regions. We source outstanding fruit from Margaret River, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Coonawarra to craft our award winning wines.

Geography

Located in the Mannus Valley at 530m above sea level, the Allegiance Wines Tumbarumba vineyard is surrounded by the majestic Snowy Mountains.

Climate

Tumbarumba can be very cold and for some vintages it is a tough place to grow grapes. The greatest challenges however often deliver the best growing results on our cool summer nights.

Soils

The soils of the Mannus Valley are very fertile with excellent pure water sources. Our vineyard is predominantly decomposed granite over clay which has delivered high quality growing conditions.

Grapes

Our Tumbarumba varietals focus on Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Our other regions are predominantly Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

Taste

Our philosophy is to make the purest expression of each vineyard’s terroir with the region’s most optimal varietal for the most fruit driven result.

Winemaking

Whilst we are located in Tumbarumba, the winemaking team supervises production within each region. This best utilises the local skills and delivers the most carefully crafted wines.
